About
Ingrid Horsselenberg (b. 1978, Hengelo) is a Dutch multimedia artist based in ’s-Hertogenbosch.
She explores photography at the intersection of collage, painting, sculpture, and performance, continuously pushing the boundaries of the medium.
Her work is characterized by a raw, contemporary aesthetic, with a focus on intimate details from her personal surroundings—such as the bodies and faces of friends, family, or herself, as well as objects that draw her in. Horsselenberg is particularly interested in the balance between figuration and abstraction, allowing the lines between these elements to blur in her images.
She feels increasingly drawn to the creative process itself, questioning what truly defines the final artwork. Her latest project invites reflection on both the act of making and the finished result, asking: What is the artwork, in the end?
