This project explores the process of creation itself, questioning whether the process can be considered the artwork. Horsselenberg moves fluidly between images, paintings, and sculptures, always starting with a personal photograph.
She paints the photo, then photographs both the overall composition and its details. These photographs are then edited, printed, and re-photographed. The cycle continues as she cuts the paintings and prints, restructures them, and captures new photographs.
The project raises the question: Can a painting be a picture? And which came first—the picture or the painting?
Through this ongoing transformation, Horsselenberg challenges the boundaries between different artistic mediums, inviting reflection on the nature of creation itself.
